Know the Risks

While some skin tones are more at risk of developing skin cancer, everyone can get it. This includes those with black and tan skin tones.

Factors that can increase your chance of developing skin cancer include: 

Your age 

You regularly burn from being in the sun 

Having pale skin or a large number of moles or freckles 

A family history of skin cancer

Having red or blonde hair, or blue eyes 

You use sunbeds and/or sunlamps 

If you have a weakened immune system or certain skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema 

If you work outside or spend large periods of time in the sun (for example if you work on a construction site or play sports outdoors)
