How We Fund Research

Our funding process ensures we only fund the best research which will have the highest relevance to our region.


Step 1: Call Opens

Researchers are encouraged to submit a research proposal


Step 2: Applications 

Applications should be based on previous data, include a novel idea and aim to improve cancer practice in the North West


Step 3: Peer Review Process

The 6 steps are outlined here. Charity Triage Check, Nominated & Independent Reviews, Board of Trustees, Approval of Funding and Award Letters Sent


Step 4: Final Decision

Decision made based on the strongest applications and researchers are informed of the outcome


Step 5: Research

Research is undertaken into tackling the cause, improving the care and finding the cure for cancer


Step 6: Dissemination

The new knowledge found is communicated to the wider population
