Eve Appeal x North West Cancer Research Research Call

North West Cancer Research is pleased to announce a new joint funding call, alongside gynae cancer charity, The Eve Appeal.

Eve Appeal researchers working in their labs

Every year in the UK, 22,050 women and people with gynae organs are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer, and 22 of them die from these conditions each day. Although the five gynaecological cancers: womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal cancer account for 6% of all new cancer diagnoses, and 5% of all cancer related deaths, awareness of these diseases remains low.

Research supported by The Eve Appeal is wholly focused on developing effective methods of risk prediction, prevention, the better diagnosis, and early detection of all gynaecological cancers.

Ovarian Cancer Fellowship

  • Funding: £120,000 per year
  • Duration: 3 years
  • Covering: salary and directly incurred costs

Deadline for application: 3 June 2024

In 2023, together with The Eve Appeal we launched a Fellowship Scheme, recognising the potential to drive a step change for gynaecological cancer research. Now, we are pleased to announce the launch of our second fellowship funding call, continuing our partnership.

Our second Fellowship call is dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research, focused on early detection, prevention, screening, and understanding inherited risk.

Our programme is now open to outstanding early to mid-career researchers at a UK institution looking to transition to leading their own groups, and is open to any discovery, translational or clinical research, within the remit of prevention, risk prediction and/or early detection of gynae cancers.
