JWT Light Up the Motorway in the Name of Cancer Research

North West Cancer Research has benefited from corporate fundraising recently with JWT Commercial raising over £5000 to support our life-saving cancer research.

The Bootle-based firm JWT Commercial, who supply transportation services to clients across the UK, encouraged 16 businesses to pledge a minimum donation of £250 in exchange for their logo on a special charity-truck, which covers an average of 80,000 road miles over 12 months.

Businesses who have pledged a donation include: Butterworth Spengler, Briggs Equipment, MTC North West and Asset Alliance Group, M & W Freight, Lodge Tyre Co, Cardinal Plus, Bridgestop Ltd, Langtons and Ammax Northwest, who have all had their company logo plastered on the truck.

Owners of JWT Commercial, Jonathan Whiteley and Tom Gallagher selected North West Cancer Research to receive the donations, after hearing of the charity through one of their employees; Owen McCann.

Owen is a Commercial director at JWT and is also the current captain of Hurlston Hall Golf Club, who have been fundraising for North West Cancer Research since early 2017, after Owen selected it as his Captain’s Charity last year.

As well as the 16 business logos adorning the truck, JWT has also placed a neon sign with the charity’s logo on their truck, lighting up the motorways on their long journeys.

Jonathan Whiteley, said: “Myself and my business partner Tom Gallagher had the idea of offering one of our trucks up to charity. When we heard about Owen’s Captain’s Charity and the work that North West Cancer Research does in the region, it was an obvious choice.

Between the three of us we sadly don’t know anyone who hasn’t been affected by cancer in some way, so we hope that the money we’ve helped raise will help to advance research into this terrible disease. Thank you to all the local businesses who donated to this great cause.”
