Ladies Lunch guests, which included women from local businesses such as Kenyon Fraser, Quilters and Moorcrofts, enjoyed an interactive dumpling-making activity led by Executive Head Chef and star of BBC’s Great British Menu, Dave Critchley, followed by a Q&A.
Mum Carolyn Wright was also in attendance, sharing her son Jenson’s cancer story and promoting the importance of cancer research in aiding the advancement of new, life-saving treatments.
A three course Chinese-inspired lunch followed before Charity staff drew a raffle and hosted an auction, including the exciting prize of dinner for six guests with two bottles of champagne at the Chef’s table of Lu Ban.
David Hughes, Managing Director of Lu Ban, said of the event; “Lu Ban was delighted to host the North West Cancer Research Ladies Lunch in April, whilst the event was a successful day for us as business, the true success was hearing so many inspirational stories and we are incredibly proud to have been involved in such a worthy cause which raised over £7,000 on the day.”
Following the successful event, Lu Ban have added a dessert menu item in honour of North West Cancer Research, from which are donated directly to the Charity.
