A local motorcycle group has supported vital cancer projects in the region with a summer ‘BikeFest’ event.
The Custodians Motorcycle Club was formed following the death of PC Keith Palmer and encompasses all Crown Servants who place themselves in harm’s way to protect others.
The Club consists of four chapters and was organised by the North West chapter, based in Halton. The North West Custodians MC group invited members from across the country to get together for a fun day of local music, fundraising and to admire one another’s bikes.
Club President, Phillip Greenhalgh, said: “Over the years the Club has sadly lost members to cancer and we have some members currently fighting the battle, so choosing cancer research was a no brainer.
“We raised funds through several raffles, of which the prize star was a motorbike. Overton and District WI provided cake and a food van pitched up to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed live music from several local bands and DJ Steve filled the gaps. We had games and a shooting range to keep non-bikers happy, while the Custodians had a trip out to Blackpool. It was some of the more Southern members first time visiting Blackpool and having proper fish and chips!
“With the sun shining the first BikeFest was a success, and plans are already underway for next year’s event!”
