The Cheer-Up! team is celebrating another successful event after raising an incredible £8,004.64 during the Cheer-Up! ball 2024. The event, held late last year, brought together a community of generous supporters who helped turn a fun-filled evening into a life-changing opportunity for local charities including North West Cancer Research.
Cheer-Up! is an organisation which aims to improve the wellbeing of as many people as possible whilst raising vital funds for important charities. Cheer-Up! was created when the founders Simon and Nicky lost two of their loved ones to cancer, inspiring them to celebrate their lives.
During the Cheer-Up! ball, guests were treated to an unforgettable evening, which included lots of fabulous prizes from the amazing partners and supporters that attended the event, as well as excellent food, drink and live music.

The Cheer-Up! team extended a heartfelt thank you to both Welton Media and Jim Donnelly, a portrait photographer, for donating their time and expertise, helping make the event a resounding success.
Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, each of the chosen charities will receive £4,002.32. The Cheer-Up! team expressed their gratitude, saying, “It’s only because of your generosity of time, spirit, and money that we’re able to hand over these funds. We couldn’t do it without you!”
Carol, the head of fundraising at North West Cancer Research, said “We are incredibly grateful to be one of the beneficiary charities of the Cheer Up Ball. Simon and Nicky worked tirelessly to organise a fantastic fundraising gala dinner, and their dedication truly paid off.
“The evening was filled with joy, fun and laughter, creating a wonderful atmosphere for everyone involved. The money raised will play a crucial role in funding lifesaving research that tackles the root causes of cancer, improves patient care, and ultimately works towards finding a cure”
