CANCER EXPERIENCES IN THE REGION
We visited Arrow Park Hospital in March for a special Cancer Experiences event, sponsored by North West Cancer Research and hosted in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University Cancer Special Interest Group.
Patients involved with the University’s special interest group gave poignant talks on their experiences through diagnosis, treatment and life beyond cancer. Professionals gave insights into current research that focusses on the experiences of patients with cancer.
North West Cancer Research Chair, Catherine Jones, spoke about the Charity’s mission, as well as how cancer has affected her own family throughout the years, before Dr Lisa Ashmore gave updates on her team’s Gynae Cancer Narratives Project, funded by North West Cancer Research.
The event was held in memory of Professor John Hyatt, a professor of art and cancer patient, whose artwork was displayed throughout.
