10k for Father’s Day
Tanya Harris, a virtual assistant from Morecambe, has recently taken on the Lancaster Father’s Day Celebration of Running 10k in memory of her dad who passed away from bowel cancer in 2020.
Tanya was joined by her friend Sally, and together the duo have raised over £670 for life-saving cancer research.
Tanya said: “Anyone who knows me knows that for my whole life I have hated running! But they also know that I do like challenges and this year I decided to finally give running a proper go and find a challenge to train for.
"North West Cancer Research is an amazing Charity that I have worked with and supported since moving up to Morecambe and I can’t think of a better cause. It was bittersweet for both me and Sally, who both lost our Dads to cancer, but running for them and for the Charity on Father’s Day was such an experience I will never forget!”
