The school, which hosted a carol service at Blackburn Cathedral in the run up to Christmas, has donated £1,244 – the proceedings of their service collection, to support vital cancer research and education across the North West.

The service was led by The Very Reverend Peter Howell-Jones and included traditional lessons, prayers, and a repertoire of carols, solos and performances by the impressive school orchestra and popular swing band.

Westholme Principal Dr Robson said: “A special thank you to The Very Reverend Peter Howell-Jones for leading the service. Our carol service is always a wonderful festive end to the Autumn term and the superb quality of our musicians and singers is enjoyed by all parents and guests.

“We’re so pleased to have raised a significant amount during our collection and are proud to be supporting a Charity that focuses on the cancers most affecting our friends, families and communities right here in the North West and we’re excited to continue supporting them throughout the year. A special thank you to all guests who generously donated.”
