Audrey's Pier Walk in Bangor

Audrey McSorley, from Bangor, has taken on a sponsored walk of Bangor Garth Pier, raising money for life-saving cancer research across the North West and North Wales.

Audrey and friends

Audrey, who has previously suffered a serious stroke and has difficulties walking and talking, took on the challenge to commemorate the 127th Birthday of the Pier, which is the second longest in Wales.

Accompanied by her friends, Linda, Michelle, Brian and Steve, Audrey completed her walk in just over an hour, despite a grey and drizzly day with winds fighting against her on the way up, raising £464 which was split between North West Cancer Research and the Friends of Bangor Garth Pier.
