A group of fitness fanatics from Birkenhead have taken on a special challenge to raise funds for cancer research projects in the North West.
The ‘Nicki’s Nutters’ team of ten each set out to cover 30,000 steps, the equivalent of climbing Snowdon, to show their support to member Jayne who recently took on the Charity’s abseil.
The challenge took just under four hours, with a few short breaks to rest their weary legs, while other members popped in to show their
support for the group, purchase a cake from the bake sale or browse a fashion re-wear rail.
Nicki Graham, leader of the group, said of the challenge: “Our studio really focuses on building a supportive community so we wanted to
support our member Jayne after her abseil and give the fundraising an extra boost.
“We were all so pleased to be supporting a local cause and unfortunately we have all had to deal with cancer one way or another in our lives, so we know how important it is to support the work North West Cancer Research does.
“The group smashed the challenge and we’re thrilled to have raised over £500”.
