Putting our region's cancer needs first

Ben's Big Climb

Ben Clifton, from Heysham, has completed an epic physical challenge, raising almost £2,500 to support research across the region.

Ben, who is a personal trainer and father of two, conquered both the National 3 Peaks and the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in just under 36 hours this summer.

Scaling the country to tackle Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon before climbing Yorkshire’s Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, Ben covered a total of 47 miles and an ascent of more than 15,000ft.

Ben, who was first introduced to the regional Charity through his involvement with business networking organisation, BNI, said: “North West Cancer Research did a talk at a BNI meeting I attended and it opened my eyes to the amazing work they do. I was immediately inspired to do my bit to support them.

“I try to do something for Charity every year and I’m sure people get sick of sponsoring me all the time, so I wanted to make sure that I went above and beyond with the challenges I set myself this year!”
