Amazing Abseilers

Fearless fundraisers have once again taken to the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral for North West Cancer Research’s second annual abseil.

This time even more people ascended (and then descended) on the Anglican, with twelve participants taking on the fundraising challenge, raising £4,700 in total for life-saving cancer research projects across the region.

Daredevil fundraiser, Helen Cunningham, said: “The abseil was so much fun and a real bucket list event! I’m so glad to have been able to complete it, with my family watching me and know that I’m helping to support much-needed cancer research projects right here in my own city.”

North West Cancer Research staff Carol and Siobhan were waiting on the ground for the group to congratulate them with a bespoke medal and certificate before gathering together for a group photo.

Carol, Senior Fundraising Manager, said: “This is the second year we have put on the abseil and it’s brilliant to see participant numbers have grown. It’s such an exciting way to fundraise and it’s great to hear everyone’s stories of the experience.
“We’re proud of all of our fearless fundraisers and so thankful for their support, which is helping us to fund life-saving work across our region.”
