Wirral Bazaar, one of the North West’s biggest festive events is delighted to announce that Tilney Group will be the main sponsor of the first ever Virtual Wirral Bazaar.

The Wirral Bazaar, an annual two-day Christmas shopping event held at Thornton Manor, was due to go ahead 3rd and 4th November, with lockdown restrictions forcing the group organizing the event to come up with other plans. Rather than cancel the event, the organisers took the decision to make this year a virtual event.

Carefully selected independent businesses from across the country have been chosen to take part in the event and are offering a range of unique Christmas gifts, with 10% of all sales going directly to North West Cancer Research.

Formed in Liverpool in 1836, Tilney is an award-winning* financial planning and investment company that builds on a heritage of more than 180 years. Their investment professionals and financial planners help a wide range of people to achieve an equally wide range of goals and ambitions. Clients include private individuals, families, charities and professionals, and they look after more than £24 billion on their behalf.

Martin Roberts, Director, Investment Management for Tilney Investment Management Services Limited said:

“At Tilney, we have a commitment to serving the communities in which we operate. Our offices have long-standing relationships with a range of charities and initiatives. Tilney was originally founded in Liverpool and is one of our largest offices, and we remain dedicated to supporting charities in Merseyside. We are delighted to once again support such a well-established event which is a key part of the Wirral calendar every year, and tirelessly raises both funds and the profile of North West Cancer Research.”

Alastair Richards, CEO of North West Cancer Research said: “We’re delighted that Tilney Group has chosen to support the virtual Wirral Bazaar. As a charity we rely on the generosity of supporters and businesses such as Tilney Group and never more so than at this difficult time which has seen fundraising severely decline due to the effects of Covid-19. We are all very grateful for their support.

"We will be back at Thornton Manor next year for an even bigger and better Bazaar than ever before!”

The Bazaar is organised by a small but dedicated volunteer committee and their wonderful army of friends and family, whose long-term support has ensured the event’s continued success. The annual Wirral Bazaar typically attracts thousands of visitors to Thornton Manor and raised over £40,000 in 2019 to support lifesaving cancer research.
