Merseyside choirs are pitch perfect for Christmas Concert for a Cure

An audience of more than 400 guests listened to a selection of festive favourites performed by Liverpool College Preplings Choir, Stagecoach Liverpool and The Luminelles, a group of young singers from Birkenhead High School Academy.

Special guests in attendance at this year’s Concert for a Cure included the High Sherriff of Merseyside David Steer and TV presenter and journalist Emily Bonner who hosted the event.

Alastair Richards, CEO, North West Cancer Research, said: “Cancer remains one of the biggest killers here in Merseyside and the North West but we are committed to supporting life-saving research which will help make important progress towards finding a cure for cancer.”

“Throughout the year, our committed group of volunteers and supporters have dedicated their time to taking on numerous fundraising challenges, everything from walking 5 km for Stride of Hope to cycling 300 miles for Cycle of Hope. As an independent charity, their dedication allows us to fund invaluable regional cancer research projects.

“Going into 2020, our priority remains to put the region’s cancer needs first, funding world-class cancer research across the North West and North Wales.”
